Scientific research and innovation investments are important ways to enable sustainability in any
ecosystem. The institution has broad spectrum of courses under one roof that yields great opportunities
for innovation and entrepreneurship. Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) in order to integrate
innovative mindset, creative thinking and entrepreneurial excellence among students organizes Research
Workshops, Guest Lectures, Faculty Development Programs, E-Learning Sessions for faculty members
and students. The Research & Development Cell of college organizes workshops on research methodology and
statistical analysis tools like SPSS, MS Excel to empower and encourage faculty members and students
for paper publication and presentations in various international and national conferences. It motivates
faculties to participate short term courses and quality development programs. It always encourages them
to undergo Ph.D. and guide them in their research development activities. College provides its faculty
with duty leave for presentation of their research activities. It gives full support to research-active faculty
members to seek accreditation as a research guide and to conduct and supervise research in their area of
their expertise. Teachers motivate students to present their research work and innovative ideas at
Seminars, Conferences and Business Plan Competitions. The college publishes a bi-annual journal
“Jagran Journal of Commerce and Economics, ISSN-2321-6522” and in the most recent addition (March
2023), one of our students has published a paper. Two students presented their paper in international
conference and two more students presented their research paper in the national seminar on Indian
Economy at Crossroads. Two of our students are associated with the Department of AI and MIL (IIT
Madras) and are working on various projects at Robert Bosch Research Centre.
The college has Jagran Innovation, Incubation and startup cell comprising of faculty members and
students. The cell organizes Training programs, Seminars and Interactive Sessions with successful
entrepreneurs and innovative activities as to promote specialized knowledge in various fields and in-turn
our students actively participate in inter-college student conference and present their research ideas and
start up ideas which have the potential to be converted into viable ventures.
Institution has developed a knowledge-creation and knowledge-transfer ecosystem through various
activities conducted by different cells/committees and departments. The Department of science founded
the Jagran Stem Club in 2019. With the objective to foster the growth of young minds with fresh
perspectives on science and technology. It establishes various MoU’s, connections and collaborations
with industries such as RCPL, GTT, IIT-K, Awoke, MSME and other reputed institutions as to
strengthen industry-academia relations.
To make the students abreast of latest information and changes in the dynamic world, College has a
modern library with adequate number of text books and other reference books, magazines, and daily
newspapers. In view of online education, college has registered with N-List and NDLI to provide access
to e-resources to students, researchers and faculty from college.
College magazine ‘Abhivyakti’ also channelizes the young talented writers and helps in encouraging
their writing skills by appraisal which inspires and motivates them to read and write.

3.4.1. Extension activities are carried out in the neighbourhood community, sensitizing students to social issues, for their holistic development, and impact thereof during the last five years.
Response:
College and institutions are supposed not only to deliver knowledge but also to lay down a strong
foundation in the young buddies to develop into a person of character, vision and determination. Jagran
college since its inception is committed for cultivating empathy, social responsibility and integrity in its
students by involving them in various activities that revolve around a social cause. Some of the extension
activities conducted by the college are as follows:
Social Welfare – Rally on water awareness, no smoking campaign, cloth and food distribution
drives, contribution in distress relief funds like COVID -19 and Kerala Distress Relief Fund etc
were the various activities conducted almost every year by the college during the last 5 years.
Eco-consciousness-The activities like sapling plantation and cleanliness drive, run for GangaHalf Marathon, swachh Bharat Abhiyan, from Junkyard to Junkkart etc were the activities carried
out by the college multiple times during the five years of time. The message behind all the
activities was to create more oxygen rich environment, to keep water bodies clean, to use the
diminishing natural resources wisely so that our coming generation can survive in a better world.
Health and Hygiene – Hygiene is the basic for the good health and good health is the pillar
quality of worthy human resource of any nation. Blood donation camp, Global diabetes walk,
international yoga day celebrations, physical fitness camps, Napkins distribution drives were the
various extension activities carried out by the college enthusiastically to serve the purpose.
Nurture the Future of Nation – As Benjamin Franklin says,” An investment in knowledge pays
the best interest” Jagran college along with its volunteers and collaborative agencies tried to
invest in nurturing the future of the nation by conducting teaching sessions in Jagriti School and
in Parishadiya School, Ramkrishna Nagar Kanpur. Underprivileged children were taught
communicative skills, origami art and craft and melodious moods to make the lessons interesting
for them.
Gender Equality- “Gender equality is not a women issue. It is human issue; it affects us all” – by
Michelle Obama. Jagran College is a promising institution. It organised multiple events to create
awareness towards gender equality, women empowerment and women rights. The felicitation of
Matr Shakti was a unique initiative towards acknowledgement of women empowerment.
Creative and Cathartic Expressions- College arranged exhibitions and fete to exhibit the talent
and creativity of students. Literary expression from students got place in Abhivyakti in various
slogan writing competitions and on commemorative celebrations. The counsellors from the
counselling cell always provided opportunity to the heavy-hearted people to lighten themselves
and as a result to provide them insight for healthier interpersonal relationships.
Extension activities performed by Faculty and alumni are proud treasures for the college. Dr Asmita
Dubey, Principal of Jagran college is the role model for all of us. We all believe that the usual works and
engagements allow us to earn money, reputation and recognition but active involvement in such
activities is the source of true happiness contentment, inner peace.

Whether it is organizing blood donation camp, clothing donation drive, voter awareness campaign,
promoting health initiatives through regular health checkups, advocating for gender equality and women
empowerment, or participating in eco-friendly initiatives and inculcating environmental conservation and
sustainability practices, it empowers its students to become active agents of change in their communities.
These activities are organized by NSS and Activity Cell in association with different Departments.
Through partnerships with local organizations such as Kanpur Nagar Nigam, Bhavana welfare
Foundation, Madad ki Raah Foundation and Social movements in association with National and
International bodies such as FICCI FLO, Dainik Jagran, Jagran College can amplify its impact and effect
meaningful change on a larger scale.
