SC/ST Cell

The Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) Cell promotes the special interests of students in the reserved category. It is expected to provide special inputs in areas where the students experience difficulties. SC & ST constitute about 15 percent 7.75 percent respectively of the total Indian population. In line with the above and Xth plan profile of Higher Education in India under Para 10 i.e. “To ensure the effective implementation of the reservation policy in admission, recruitment etc. SC/ST cell is established in the college.”

Establishment of the cell

SC/ST cell has been set up in the college in the year 2023 to ensure a transparent mechanism to help the SC/ST category students and bringing them into mainstream of the society.

Primary Objectives.

  • To follow the transparent and adequate reservation policy for SC/STs in line with Government norms.
  • To assess the number of SC/STs students admitted in the college every year.
  • To take appropriate measures for achieving the goals.
  • To assist SC/ST students for their academic and overall development.

Duties and Functions of the cell

  • To conduct activities for the development of students from SC/ST category.
  • To maintain database of staff and students belonging to SC/ST community.
  • To create awareness regarding various government schemes for the welfare of SC/ST community.
  • To resolve the representations received from SC/ST candidates regarding their admission, scholarship, and other similar matters.
  • To function as a Grievances Redressal Cell for SC/ST candidates and staff in the college.
