On the occasion of International Youth Day (12th Aug), Jagran College of Arts, Science, and Commerce, in collaboration with Dainik Jagran, Kanpur, hosted an engaging discussion on “Youth Priorities and Possibilities.” This special day served as a platform to amplify the voices of young individuals and recognize their immense potential in shaping the future.
The Jagran College NSS unit marked the event with an insightful program highlighting the pivotal role of India’s youth in national development. The celebration commenced with an orientation session for the new batches of B.A., B.Sc., and B.Com (Hons.) students, setting the foundation for their academic journey. The orientation aimed to familiarize students with the college’s values, academic framework, and a wide array of opportunities available to them. Faculty members and senior students played an instrumental role in guiding the newcomers, offering valuable insights into academics, extracurricular activities, and the support systems that make Jagran College a nurturing environment for holistic growth.
Following the orientation, the International Youth Day celebration was graced by the esteemed presence of IAS Saumya Pandey Ma’am as the Chief Guest, Mrs. Bhawana Shukla, Brand Manager at Dainik Jagran, presented a sapling to Chief Guest IAS Saumya Pandey Ma’am, representing growth and new beginnings.In the keynote address, Saumya Ma’am inspired students by emphasizing the importance of harnessing India’s demographic dividend through Shiksha (Education), Swasthya (Health), Kaushal (Skills), Svavalamban (Self-Reliance), and Swadeshi (Indigenous Practices). She encouraged students to cultivate an indomitable “Yes, I can!” spirit, characterized by Outstanding performance, Unshakable determination, Talent, and Hard work—qualities that define the essence of YOUTH. Urging the young minds to be fearless, humble, and goal-oriented, she reinforced their role as the architects of a promising future.
The event’s thematic initiation was led by Mr. Awadhesh Sharma, General Manager at Dainik Jagran, who set the stage for the insightful discussions that followed bymoderator Neharika Shukla, further enriched the event. The conversation with Saumya Pandey Ma’am explored the significance of youth in national progress, with a strong emphasis on education, health, skills, self-reliance, and indigenous practices as key drivers of a self-sufficient and prosperous India.
To honor the contributions of the esteemed guests, mementos were presented to IAS Saumya Pandey Ma’am and moderator Neharika Shukla by Dr. J.N. Gupta, CEO of Jagran Education Foundation, and Dr. Asmita Dubey, Principal of Jagran College. The program concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks, leaving students deeply inspired and motivated to embrace future challenges.
