Jagran College at its sprawling campus is the most modern in infrastructure extended over four floors with an elevator, lecture theatres, auditoriums, well-stocked library, yoga and sports facilities and Wi-Fi. State-of-art infrastructure facilitates better instruction, improves student outcomes, and reduces dropout rates, among other benefits. College offers six undergraduate courses and a post-graduate course.

Campus:

  • College campus is spread over 14000 sq. meter area with 5000 sq. meter built-up area.
  • Well-furnished, spacious, properly ventilated, and naturally lit classrooms, library, conference hall, auditorium, administrative hall and common room for boys and girls. Smart Class equipped with latest technogy digital panel besides three lecture halls have LCD projector with proper wi-fi facility.
  • Play grounds, indoor games, Training and Placement Cell, Innovation, Incubation and Startup cell, Mentoring/Counselling cell and canteen for students are also available
  • Upgraded IT and ICT facilities with Wi-Fi and LAN connectivity.
  • Science Department have well-furnished Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology laboratories equipped with advanced instruments and apparatus.
  • Clean drinking water facility, water coolers and RO are installed throughout the campus.
  • Establishment of eco-friendly campus through proper waste management, Vermi and organic compost pit and rain water harvesting.
  • College has an infirmary and provides prompt first aid care.
  • College has round-the clock power back up by generators, fire extinguishers are installed in all over the building.

Library:

  • College has two libraries with large number of text books and other reference books. It also subscribes to large number of national and international journals, magazines and daily newspapers to make the students abreast of latest information.
  • In view of online education, the college has registered with N-List and NDLI in order to provide access to resources to students, researchers and faculty from college.

Extra-curricular Activities:

  • College is known for its academic environment and cultural expression and hosts various activities throughout the year; utilizing two venues- auditorium for college level programs and conference hall for departmental events. Besides for large scale events such as Intercollegiate Fest, Fete and Carnivals etc. college ground is utilised.
  • It organizes seminars, symposium, guests lecture to keep the faculty and students updated about world arena in different fields. It also organizes Kalanjali – an intercollegiate fest as to enhance social interaction and facilitates exchange of cultural ideas and thoughts among students from different background and programs

 Yoga and Sports:

  • College facilitates all-round development following the Indian tradition and culture that empowers every student with confidence to achieve his or her goal in the most conducive environment of college. On the sports front, College has Cricket Field, Volleyball, Badminton, Basketball Courts, Rooms for Table Tennis, and various other indoor games.
  • College conducts regular sessions of Yoga in the campus with the presence of 50 students in each session. The yoga trainer trains faculty as well as students the asanas to lead healthy lifestyle. Moreover, the introduction of Physical Education and Yoga in the curriculum under NEP has not only created awareness among students but also aims in to develop heathy habits, prioritize self-care, and embrace balanced approach to life.
  • The campus offers a blend of healthy environment, resources, support, and guidance to enhance the quality of student’s experience. The active participation and achievements of our students in university/intercollegiate events showcase the success stories.

4.2.1. Library is automated using Integrated Library Management System (ILMS), subscription to e-resources, amount spent on purchase of books, journals and per day usage of library

Response:

College has two libraries in second and third floor respectively. Each spread over an area of 929.55 sq.ft with a seating capacity of 25in either of them and two computers with internet connectivity. College library is well-stocked with adequate number of books and other reference books. It subscribes national and international journals, magazines and daily newspapers to promote reading and research culture and make the students abreast of latest information and changes in the dynamic world.

At the beginning of every session, during orientation progam, all the students are made aware about the various facilities provided by the college library. Librarian prepares class-wise time schedule and get it circulated through proper notice in all classes as to ensure that all newly admitted students have library card. The students are also helped and trained in searching the books in the College Library by the library staff.

College Library houses a Book Bank covering all the disciplines taught in the College.It renders services to the needy students by providing them with the text books (Maximum 2 at a time) of their choice for the whole academic session. To ensure transparency in distribution, books are issued on first come first serve basis. Students are required to return these books before the commencement of their examinations to get Clearance/No Dues from the library.

College has Library ManagementSystem provided byDatamanComputers System Pvt.Ltd. Kanpur.It automates and streamlines library operations and helps maintain detailed information about the books in the library. Itcan track the status of books, collect fines, and generate insightful reports to identify gaps and future needs. This electronic module improves the structure of the library and improves the work efficiency of librarians. The software module includes reports such as Purchase Register/Summary, Books Received/Issued, Books Stock-Report Subject-wise, Author-wise, Publisher-wise, Fine Calculation etc.

In view of online education, the college has registered with N-List and National Digital Library (NDLI) in order to provide access to e-resources to students, researchers and faculty from college. The users can access this facility through their login-id. They canalso download documents from the various databases and electronic journals provided to the College from N-List. and NDLI through computers installed in CollegeLibrary. Moreover, it facilitates access to educational resources such as articles, videos, ppt’s and other materials as to promote (OER) practices through WhatsApp groups.

4.3.1. Institution frequently updates its IT facilities and provides sufficient bandwidth for internet connection.

Response:

College keeps pace with technological developments in education as to facilitate more comprehensive teaching-learning environment both for teachers and students. It includes the following:

  • Robust wi-fi network that covers the entire campus providing seamless internet connectivity to all the members of college.
  • College has a local area network (LAN) in office, computer lab and staffroom as well as Wi-Fi connectivity to ease the working in all departments and collaborate and share information seamlessly.  
  • There are total 170 computers that are regularly updated in line with the current benchmarks and evolving technological needs of the education system. These computers are also equipped with licensed copies of software and antivirus protection to ensure their security and safety. Students have access to the necessary resources enabling them to complete their research/market survey projects on time. 
  • College has five ICT enabled halls including one smart class, two lecture halls and one seminar hall and an auditorium equipped with audio-video aids too. During Pandemic college successfully conducted online classes. All the faculty members prepared various video lectures/PowerPoint presentations on their assigned subjects and conducted interactive and engaging classes for students through Zoom, google classroom, Teach-mint, etc. Various extracurricular activities were also conducted online to strengthen the bond in that difficult time. All this powered the adoption of educational technology and implementing it in the system which can be viewed from our current practices.  Moreover scanners, printers and photocopy facilities in the administration block are also available making all the faculty members and students to access the necessary resources.
  • To ensure transparency and accountability in the system biometric machines are used for recording attendance of teaching and non-teaching staff. Besides biometric attendance is mandatory for all students who are applying for scholarship.
  • College website is regularly updated by a website committee.
  • College is registered with N-List and NDLI as to provide access to e-resources to students, faculty, and researches from college. to access the necessary resources.
  • In 2019 college was allotted as B.Ed. examination centre as it had ample IT enabled conveniences viz- CCTV, Mic in every room etc. Looking into the availability of resources, CSJM university also set it as a digital evaluation center since 2021-2022.
  • The entire campus is under CCTV surveillance to maintain discipline and ensure the safety and security of students and faculty.

The computer labs are maintained by a team of hardware technicians and e-waste is disposed of appropriately. A schedule for optimal utilization of the computer lab is created by the Department of Computer Applications in accordance with the class time table.
